Relatable & Authentic

Nov. 1, 2025

Hi Reader,

Living the life of a millennial mom has been a whirlwind for me! The main reason being is that I am a mother of two daughters with a huge age gap that makes people say, “say what?” when they hear about the age difference My daughters are exactly 14 years apart! Yes, you read that right. I have a 16-year-old and a 28-month-old both calling me mom! Do you want to hear something wilder? I am set to have my 3rd daughter in just under one week from now and I am going to rock my Girl Mom gear so proudly!

If you are one of my Subscribers, you may already know that I run a busy ship at home as I juggle our businesses, my writing for my upcoming books & the girls all the while being a great partner to my dear Husband. It takes quite a while to keep organized on a day-to-day basis. Now that we are just days away from bringing our newest family member home, I want to share tips on what I have been doing to not miss a beat in keeping my home flow going.

Preparing for Baby’s Arrival

  • Hospital Bag: Getting my hospital bag together early enough has helped me mentally prepare time for other tasks like general cleaning before baby’s arrival. So far, items in my hospital bag Includes essentials like toiletries, snacks, baby’s first outfit, snacks, chargers, and a robe. As you know I cannot forget to pack my laptop for writing and my kindle.
  • Meal Prep: I stocked up on more tupperware and started cooking homemade meals to stock up my freezer. Although my actual due date is just 2 days before Thanksgiving Day, I am set to deliver via a medically necessary c-section 5 days from now. Having these easy-to-reheat meals ready will ensure that my family will enjoy homecooked meals as I recover from this major surgery.
  • Prepare Older Children: My husband and I had a conversation and rearranged chores for our oldest daughter. It is good to have a prep talk with your children about what to expect when their new sibling arrives at home. For our youngest, we have been working on enforcement in areas that she is already familiar with such as cleaning after herself and instruction following. You may even try to read a related book. One we found was How to be a Big Sister by Marilyn James. It is such a cute story!
  • Delegate, Delegate, Delegate: This one is for my husband and our oldest daughter. My husband is an MVP when it comes to catering to my needs by any means necessary. Our oldest is not genuinely excited about having more chores around the house but for the last few months, it has been all hands on deck for us! I feel blessed and grateful for them! Moms, if you have a full house, do not hesitate to lean on your support system.

Oct. 1, 2025 Hi Reader, The Fall is such a breath of fresh air for me. As sweater weather tiptoes in and sidewalks turn to crunchy mosaics, I’ve been finding myself getting overly excited about letting the good morning breeze flow through my tresses as I read my books out front! Okay let's pause for a moment...... I live in hot Houston, Texas! Everything you’ve just read was only a figment of my imagination. I mean, don’t get me wrong; in the wee early mornings there is a slight dip in the...

Sept. 1, 2025 Hi Reader, As September tiptoes in with cooler sunrises and earlier sunsets, you may be feeling a need to switch up your routines a bit. Another factor that might have you switching gears is that by now, many of us parents may have gone back to work after taking time off for the Summer and some of our children may have already gone back to school as early as last month. Our youngest ones may have even transitioned to preschool while some of us may still be looking after little...

August 1, 2025 Hey Story Lovers and Friends As the rays of the summer sun grace us with warmth and the days stretch lazily ahead, I find myself cherishing the simple joys of reading outdoors while my girls play. There's something scintillating about flipping pages under the open sky, the laughter of little ones echoing in the background and the smell of pure nature. Embracing Summer: A Season for Bonding and Reading I recognize the Summer as an excellent opportunity to bond with our children...
